Replacement of asbestos roofs in Boscán Elementary School III El Oculto
During the month of March of the year 2017, we carried out a socio-environmental day in the Boscán III El Oculto Elementary School, located in the Campo Boscán sector of Jesús Enrique Lossada municipality. It was developed within the framework of the project to replace the roofs of the school and the installation of a hydropneumatic pump for the operation of the water filter of said educational institution.
The civil work arose from the need of the community, given that the old roof, in addition to being damaged, was made of asbestos, material that is considered to be a risk to health due to its carcinogenic properties. In this sense, we join efforts together with our allied company Suelotec C.A., for the execution of the project as part of the corporate social responsibility actions.
Infrastructure improvements, the boards of both companies offered to the educational community and the living forces of the sector an activity that included training talks, presentation of a clown, provision of school supplies and oral hygiene kits; In addition, in partnership with the Outpatient Clinic of Km. 56 via Perijá, we placed vaccines and did free medical check-ups for the screening of high blood pressure. Also, with the Dentistry Unit of the University Hospital of Maracaibo, we were able to provide dental care for children and adults.
With this action of social responsibility, we directly benefit 110 students and around 70 families living in poverty. Once again, we are co-responsible for our environment and we demonstrate our commitment to the communities.
